We Intend to Cause Havoc! (WITCH)

Witch is a Zamrock band formed in the 1970s, during Zambia’s post-independence golden days, and widely seen as the most popular Zambian band of the time.

After a long hiatus, it was reborn in 2012, with lead vocalist Emanuel “Jagari” Chanda.

And yes, this is “Classic Rock”! Just think Rolling Stones…

(Jagger and Jagari sound the same…)

Welcome to Zamrock!

Psychedelic Zambian Rock and Funk jams.

Zamrock was molded in 1970s Zambia out of a dual influence of Jimi Hendrix’s acid guitar and James Brown‘s funk.

Zamrock is a musical genre that is described as a combination of traditional African music with psychedelic rock and funk.

Welcome To Zamrock!, presented in two volumes, was an overview of its most beloved ensembles, and a trace of its arc from its ascension, to its fall, to its resurgence.
