Cuban composer and pianist Omar Sosa has spent ten years shaping An East African Journey, fusing jazz and traditional African music, with eight artists from East Africa.
Banjoist Béla Fleck released “Throw Down Your Heart: The Complete Africa Sessions”, an expansive 3-disc collection that includes a duo album with Toumani Diabaté, named “The Ripple Effect”.
Artists like Mali’s Oumou Sangaré, Tanzania’s Anania Ngoliga, Madagascar’s D’Gary and Uganda’s Nakisenyi Women’s Group also feature on this release.
